For 2007 onwards, the data is taken from Major League Baseball's play-by-play files. As such there are sometimes anomolies in the data compared to official totals. These discrepencies are usually extremely minor and often are the result in errors in the XML files themselves*. We are working with MLBAM on an ongoing basis to try and correct these errors. We are also developing a way to self-correct these problems, and it should hopefully be in place for the 2009 season. Also, MLBAM currently does not track each pitch at the minor league level below Triple-A. Therefore, data fields on the player pages that pertain to pitch data are blanked out.
